Pick and pack · catch weight
Catch weight picking and packing, billed by real weight
A striploin ordered at about 12 pounds weighs 12.4 on the scale. Supligo charges for 12.4 — and tells the customer before the truck leaves.

How catch weight works in Supligo
Catch weight is selling by the piece or case but charging by what each one actually weighs — the everyday reality of meat, fish, cheese and much of produce.
Priced per pound
You set the price per pound and the usual weight of a piece or case.

The customer orders pieces or cases and sees an estimate, marked “~”.

Whoever packs types in the weight from the scale. A reading far from the usual weight asks for a second look.

Packing that leaves nothing to memory
What to pick, by order and by product
Your team works from the same orders the office confirmed. An order cannot be marked packed until every line has its count — and its weight, when it is sold by weight.
- Orders to pick and orders packed, each with its truck
- A list by product, added up across every order for the day
- Counts and weights entered line by line

- Atlantic Salmon FilletOrdered 10 lb9.8 lb
- Roma TomatoesOrdered 2 cases of 25 lb2 cases
Short on something? Say so once
Shortages are settled before the truck leaves, so the driver never has to explain a missing case at the door.
- Mark a line short, or offer a substitute
- The customer answers from an email — no sign-in needed
- Their answer updates the order and its total
The details that matter for weighed goods
Pounds or metric
Each business chooses how weights are shown; each product keeps its own unit.
A second look at odd weights
A weight more than 25% away from what was expected needs a person to confirm it.
“Packed, with changes”
The customer is emailed only when something differs — a short line, a substitute or a weight.
No prices for packers
Give the people who pack the Operations role: they pick, weigh and pack without ever seeing a price.
Stock, if you want it
Track what is on the shelf for the products you choose, with a warning when one runs low.

Questions about catch weight
Does Supligo connect to my scale?
Not directly. The person packing reads the scale and types the weight in — on a computer or tablet in the warehouse.
What if the customer takes fewer pieces at the door?
The driver records what was accepted. The packed weight is reduced in proportion and the customer is charged on that — never for what they sent back.
Can I print pick lists?
Pick lists are on screen today, where they stay up to date as orders change. Printing is not available yet.
What does the customer see?
Before packing: “About 12 lb — charged on what it weighs”, and an estimated total. After packing: the weight on the scale, the estimate beside it, and the price per pound. Read our guide to catch weight pricing.
