Every total depends on the tax you charge, so Supligo takes no order, from your team or online, until this is answered. An order tried before shows: Before your first order, say which sales tax you collect.
Owners and admins answer it on the web: in setup, in the step Address and region, or in Settings, Company details.
In Canada: under Registered for GST/HST?, choose Yes, registered and type your GST/HST number, for example 123456789 RT0001. Or choose No — not registered. In some provinces you are also asked about the provincial tax (QST, PST or RST) and its number.
In the United States: under Hold a sales tax permit in any state?, choose Yes and add each state with its permit number (Add a state), or choose No — none yet. Sales tax is charged only in a state where you hold a permit, at the rate of where the goods go.
In the United Kingdom: under Registered for VAT?, choose Yes, registered and type your VAT registration number, or choose No — not registered.
Tax is charged only where you are registered to collect it, and your number is printed on every order summary that charges it.
Once your company is set up, the answer is fixed: your order summaries and customers know you by it. To change it, Message Supligo.
